After the college game between USU Eastern and Western Wyoming Emery High played the visiting Dugway Mustangs who travelled all the way from Toole to come play the Spartans. The Mustangs are a 1A school and their record is 2-9 on the season.

В

First up was Emery’s junior varsity with an impressive 83-21 victory. В In the first quarter alone the Spartans outrebounded the Mustangs 13-2 with a total of 34 points contributed. To go with their rebounds the team also had 21 steals and shot 56%. They also only turned the ball over once compared to 11 turnovers from the Mustangs. The team collectively played well and all twelve Spartans who played in the game ended up scoring at least one point or more. Otis Addison had a strong game with 15 points and eight rebounds. Addison also had a great dunk in transition for the Spartans. Sophmore, Tyson Roper had 11 and didn’t miss a shot from the field. Otis had 11 of his 15 points and six of his eight rebounds in the first quarter where he played the most before all the sophomores were put in. Mcklane Allred and Gavin McDermott also played well with Allred hitting 3/5 from deep to pour in 13 points and McDermott scoring nine and pulling down seven boards.

Emery looked to bounce back from their heart breaking game at Carbon and got the job done against Dugway winning 80-36. Emery started out slow in the first but hit their stride in the second where they outscored the Mustangs 23-4. The Spartan’s defense also played pretty well like they did in the second half against Carbon. Emery shot 62% from the field and 41% from deep. Emery was also able to get to the line 15 times with 13 steals. Bay Faimalo played well at the point dishing the ball and scoring. Bay had 18 points, five assists, and four steals. The win was a team effort with seven Spartans who scored eight or more points. Dawson Jensen had nine rebounds and 10 points, two of which came off of a sick dunk in the third quarter. Dillon Wilstead had 14 points on 6 of 10 shooting plus four assists. Emery played well but stronger competition is on the way Friday against the South Sevier Rams.
