Emery High begins two 2A State Tournament campaigns Friday, and both the volleyball and football squads face tough matchups.
In a rematch of last week’s opening round football matchup, the Lady Spartan volleyball team matches up against Enterprise at 9:30 in the Utah Valley University gymnasium.
Enterprise enters the matchup as the Region 13 Champions and one of a few State Tournament favorites. Emery earned a fourth-place Region 15 slot by defeating South Sevier in the last region game of the season.
The Spartan football team marches into Manti for the second time this season in a week three rematch in which the Templars handily defeated the Spartans 28-0.
Emery comes into the matchup with momentum after a thrilling 20-18 victory over Enterprise.
