Zach Jorgensen pitched a complete game four-hitter and Easton Gordon knocked in five runs in the Emery Spartans’ 13-1 win against the Millard Eagles Friday afternoon.
Jorgensen picked up the win after allowing just one run, which was unearned, to go along with six strikeouts and no walks. He also had an RBI at the plate, going 1-1 with a walk and three runs scored.
Gordon was nearly perfect at the plate, racking up five RBIs on two doubles and a single. Race Nielsen had two hits, including a triple, to go along with three RBIs. Tel Garnder had a double and two RBIs.
Leading 5-1 entering the bottom of the third, the Spartans scored six runs to take the commanding lead.
Emery (6-1, 0-0 2A East) will have three non-region games this week; Tuesday and Wednesday versus Carbon and Union, respectively, and Friday at Delta.
