Emery defeated Manti 2-0 in their first home game of the season on Thursday.
Emery’s Zak Anderson was able to score a goal in the first half of the game. Parker Sermon scored the other goal for Emery to lock in the win. Spartan goalie Tayv Cook controlled the defense and was a key factor in Emery’s win.
Following the shutout, the Spartans (3-3, 1-1 Region 15) will look for another win on Tuesday as the team travels to North Sanpete (0-4, 0-0 Region 15) for a 4 p.m. kickoff.
