Just as it was a year ago, the Emery Spartans made quick work of the Wasatch Academy Tigers Tuesday afternoon in a doubleheader in Castle Dale. The Spartans outscored the Tigers 46-0 while giving up just two hits in the games.

In game one, Emery jumped out to a quick 13-0 lead after the first inning. Ridge Nielson homered in the game and Ethan Tuttle nailed a triple. Dillon Wilstead, Jordan Baletka and Mark Debry each had a double. Emery had 16 hits in the game. Tuttle was also the winning pitcher.

Emery increased its first inning output from game one to 21 in game two. Wilstead had four hits in the game, bashing out three triples and a double. Nielson had two doubles and was credited with the win on the mound. Tuttle and Tristen Deabenderfer both had doubles on the afternoon. Emery scored four more runs in the second and three in the fourth to round out the scoring. The Spartans also had 22 total hits in the game.
