A dimly-lit lunchroom set the atmosphere for Castle Dale Elementary’s annual Thanksgiving etiquette dinner on Thursday.

Colleen Bott, school secretary, greeted the students and asked them to wait for the hostess, Principal Melinda Durrant. She then showed students to their seats at decorated tables. The PTO board for the school served as waitresses, making sure each student received a full course Thanksgiving dinner.

Pumpkin pie, rolls and green salad were waiting for each participant on the table. The servers then carefully placed plates filled with turkey, potatoes and gravy as well as a fruit salad in front of each student. Chefs for the event were Castle Dale Elementary’s child-nutrition specialists. Students and teachers came to school dressed in their best to emphasize the importance of this meal.
