Food for Thought: Beautiful Bing Cherries

By Patti Rigby, Carbon School District Nutritional Director

The bing cherries at our local markets are fresh, large and sweet! Thanks to the generous donation of our local Elks Lodge BPOE 1550 we have been able to offer them at all of our free summer lunch sites several times. Bing cherries are an excellent source for Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron and potassium.

Their intensely sweet taste makes them the most popular fresh cherry to snack on. Join us at the free summer lunch program to help your kids (18 and under) enjoy the fresh taste of summer!
