Cantaloupe is not only tasty; it is fun to eat right off the rind! When kids enjoy the way a food is served, they usually eat larger serving sizes. Our students love getting lots of fruit and veggies at school lunch served in fun and convenient ways. Due to its pastel coloring, the diversity of nutrients in cantaloupe is often overlooked. It has approximately 30 times higher levels of beta-carotene than what is found in fresh oranges. It is a great source of Vitamins C, A, B1, B6, K, potassium and folate. The edible seeds are also good for you. Come eat lunch with us and enjoy our featured fresh fruit!
