Voting Day November 7 was opening day for our annual pan sale. Our theme “Camping in the Kitchen” brought smiles to children and adults alike. Our team has put on the Pan Sale for years as a method to raise funding for necessary training and conferences.

There’s a great deal of education and regulation that goes into food service to keep us all safe whether we are serving or eating the delicious meals! Our office recently came across an article published August 9,1969 discussing the “food service sanitation workshop” where 130 staff from Carbon, Emery, Notre Dame School, Duchesne, and Uintah gathered to be trained by Gerald Story the sanitarian for the health district, Cliff Snow state director of School Food Services, and Gladys Gardner a specialist in food services.

While a lot has changed in education over the decades, serving students nutritious food safely isn’t one of them!
