Carbon students love their greens! They get a delightful dose of the dark green veggie every week! Broccoli is very low in calories and contains less that 1% fat. It is one of the best foods to eat for cardiovascular health. When eaten raw or lightly steamed, it is abundant in Vitamin C, which is very important during cold and flu season.

The Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010 requires a weekly serving of a dark green vegetable and our students prefer broccoli over others in this category so we serve is most often. We love our florets, whether crisp and fresh or lightly steamed and bright green!
