Food for Thought: Teriyaki Chicken for Carbon School District

Teriyaki chicken is one of our newer menu entrees. Normally, teriyaki sauce is a source of high sodium, but not in our lunches. Our teriyaki is low enough to meet the USDA standards per the Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act.

Sodium is a concern in all our menu planning as the USDA has set a maximum acceptable level for each age group. Food manufacturers have worked diligently to make foods tasty while keeping within those requirements.

Our teriyaki chicken brings out the smiles of approval.
