A Carbon County man is now facing three misdemeanors and nine felonies in three separate cases that have been filed against him in the 2018 year. Thirty-three year old Justin Llewelyn of Wellington was recently apprehended after a manhunt that lasted four days. This manhunt for Llewelyn began when he broke into a home in Herriman, shooting the homeowner as well as firing at police.

Llewelyn is accused of firing at a Unified office on Jan. 20. He then broke into the nearby home in which he fired at and struck the homeowner. Llewelyn then proceeded to steal the homeowner’s vehicle. The homeowner did survive the incident. After what has been described as an “intense” four-day hunt for Llewelyn, he was spotted by Violent Fugitive Apprehension Strike Force on Jan. 24. Llewelyn was driving a stolen pickup truck near Bicentennial Park in Provo.

What then ensued was a 10-mile chase on U.S. 89 that traveled through Springville into Spanish Fork. After 20 minutes, the chase ended when a Utah County Sheriff’s deputy used his vehicle to stop Llewelyn, resulting in an accident.

Llewelyn’s charges include theft, failing to stop for an officer, two counts of attempted aggravated murder, criminal mischief, possession of drug paraphernalia and more. All charges against him are in addition to two cases that were filed against Llewelyn in 2017. Those cares are ongoing.

The traffic violations that Llewelyn committed during the chase have been added to his case. Llewelyn’s next court hearing will take place on Mar. 1 and will be in West Jordan.
