During the Huntington Heritage Days Rodeo that took place on Saturday, contestant Collette McElprang was badly injured in an accident while riding. Due to the accident, McElprang sustained a broken sternum, partially collapsed lung, four broken ribs, a hole in her lungs, blood in her chest cavity and a bruised heart.

From Castleview Hospital, McElprang was life flighted to the Utah Valley Regional Hospital and is doing well but has a long road to recovery. As to be expected, medical bills will continue to mount as McElprang recovers and the community is ready to rally once more to help their own.
