A total of 13 teams participated in the first ever Habitat for Humanity of Castle Country golf tournament on Saturday.

Nearly $5,000 was generated from this event. Money raised from the tournament will be used to build a future home in Price and contribute to the Brush with Kindness program that provides exterior home repairs for low income families, elderly and veterans. All the proceeds will stay in the Carbon/Emery county area.

Team Anonymous took the first place tournament win while team Dr. Beecher took second. Winners received a variety of shirts, hats, tumblers, golf passes, golf balls and gift certificates. The team that placed last received the hacker award. This award was obtained by Team Regruto/McGinnes. The closest to the hole winner received a golf bag donated by General Distributing. This award went to Bob Burge.

Raffle tickets were sold prior to the event as well as during. Prizes for tournament and raffle winners were donated by businesses and organizations.

“We appreciate the support of our sponsors and golfers who made our first ever golf tournament a success,” stated Habitat president Karen Basso. “We look forward to hosting another tournament next year.”
