Four Lady Spartans were recently recognized for 2A All State for girl’s golf.
Making the cut for the first team were Sydnee Guymon and Taijah Price while Sydney Timothy was named the the second team. Sarah Swasey received honorable mention.
The Lady Spartans took their second-straight third place finish at the 2A state golf tournament last week. In the tournament, the team improved their score from last year by 26 strokes.
Guymon finished in fifth place overall at the tournament with 75 points while Price ended in 11th with 70. Timothy and Swasey rounded out the scoring for the Spartans with 60 and 55, respectively.
The team ended the 2015 season on top of the Region 15 standings, going undefeated in region play. Emery has not lost a region matchup since the girl’s golf program started at the school.
