Hawks Score Late, Doom Lady Spartans

In a makeup from last week, the Emery Spartans traveled to Mt. Pleasant Monday to take on the North Sanpete Hawks, and were sent home with an 11-5 defeat.

The Hawks beat the Lady Spartans 15-2 on Friday in Castle Dale. The loss marked the seventh straight defeat for Emery.

North Sanpete scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to increase its one-run lead to six. The Hawks narrowly out-hit the Spartans 11-10.

Madisyn Alton, Addy Healy and Raegan Rasmussen each had two hits apiece in the game.

Kaylee Price took the loss in the circle, allowing six earned runs in the five innings pitched. Huggard came in the last inning in relief, allowing a run, which was unearned, on two hits.

Emery (6-11, 2-6 Region 15) will play at Grand on Tuesday before welcoming Richfield to Castle Dale on Friday.
