Emery’s Carson Healy kept the South Sevier Ram offense at bay in the Spartans 9-0 blowout in Castle Dale yesterday.
Healy tossed a one-hitter while getting plenty of run support from his teammates. Five Spartans notched doubles in the win and Tappan Draper tripled.
Emery (12-6, 6-2 Region 12) will make the arduous journey to San Juan (10-8, 5-4 Region 12) on Friday. The Spartans beat the Broncos 3-2 on April 12 in eight innings.
The Spartans remain one game behind Grand for first place in the Region 12 standings.
