Both the Helper and Price American Legion teams will finish the regular season Tuesday evening against one another in a doubleheader in Helper. The two will then participate in the Southern Utah State American Legion Tournament beginning Thursday, also in Helper.

Helper has won three straight games (five with two forfeits from Sevier this past Friday) entering its season finale Tuesday against its Price counterpart.

The Merchants took both games of a doubleheader on July 11 at Vernal, 13-8 and 5-3. Zac Bradley homered in game one, leading the team with five RBIs. He also had two doubles. Tiger Thayn, Jayden Flemett and Ty Anderson each added two RBIs apiece. Bradley then knocked in a team-high two runs in game two on a triple to lead his team to the 5-3 win.

Against Roosevelt on Thursday, Bradley again tripled, adding three RBIs in his team’s 6-5 win. Helper scored its six runs in the first inning and held on for the win. Nate Olson earned the win after going six innings, allowing just one earned run on three hits.

A scheduled doubleheader Friday at Sevier was forfeited, giving Helper two more league victories.

Both teams will take part in the Southern Utah State American Legion Tournament beginning Thursday in Helper. The Merchants enter the tournament at the third seed behind Pleasant Grove and St. George. Helper will take on Sevier to begin the tournament on Thursday at 8 p.m. Price secured the seventh seed and will face St. George at 2:30 p.m. in Helper.

All games will be played at Ernie Gardner Field. The top four seeds will advance to play in the Utah State American Legion Tournament at Gates Field in Kearns next week.
