The Helper American Legion Merchants, after winning the southern division title the previous week, ended their summer session after a Monday loss to Salem Hills, 8-2.
Helper was playing out of the loser’s bracket after suffering an opening-round loss to Syracuse 8-4 on Friday night. St. George beat North Cache on Friday, setting up a matchup between North Cache and Helper on Saturday.
Helper notched the win over North Cache 5-1 to advance to a Monday game against Salem Hills, who lost to Pleasant Grove in the quarters, that the Merchants eventually lost.
Helper ends the season with an overall record of 18-7.
