On Wednesday evening at approximately 8:40 p.m., Wellington Police Department officer Anderson was dispatched to a domestic dispute call at Miller’s gas station on an intoxicated male subject that eventually escalated to a high-speed chase involving multiple other law enforcement agencies.
When Officer Anderson arrived, the male subject recklessly exited Miller’s gas station parking lot in his vehicle. It was then that Officer Anderson attempted to initiate a routine traffic stop. However, the driver failed to pull over.
Throughout the chase, officials from the Price City Police Department, Helper City Police Department, Carbon County Sheriff’s Office and Utah Highway Patrol were involved.
After setting spikes in two places, the chase ended at milepost 232 near Helper.
Officer Anderson arrested the driver of the vehicle for multiple counts, which included failure to respond to officer signal to stop/evading, DUI, possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia, disorderly conduct, never obtaining a drivers license, and reckless driving. The driver was identified as Levi Daryl from Arizona. Daryl is 33 years of age and was booked into the Carbon County Jail on the above charges. The report will be reviewed by the Carbon County Attorney for formal charges.
