Residents of Castle Country, as well as those far and wide, gather every summer to brave the heat and enjoy the annual Greek Festival that is hosted each summer in July by the beloved Assumption Greek Orthodox Church.
This celebration boasts highly-acclaimed Greek food and refreshing beverages each year. Greek dancing, a raffle and other forms of entertainment are usually on the roster as well. A highlight this year was a market and a revamped gift shop that had items available for attendees to purchase and commemorate the celebration.
Another new addition was the gyro meat that was guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser. The newly-appointed priest, Father Serathim Johns, was also happy to attend and meet so much of the community at one time.
This two-day event is highly anticipated in the community and is always a great way for the church to raise funds to help them throughout the year.
