Huge Second Quarter Leads to Massive Win For Lady Spartans

The dominant run by the Emery Lady Spartans to begin the season continued Thursday evening in Fillmore against the Millard Eagles. Emery took the game 77-48.

Through three games thus far, the Lady Spartans have given up just 41.6 points per game while averaging 76.3.

After a relatively slow first quarter, in which Millard outscored Emery 13-11, the Lady Spartans exploded in the second with a 29-point performance. The Lady Eagles scored just 11 points. Emery was +13 combined in the third and fourth quarters to coast to the victory.

Megan Jensen followed up her 34 and 15 double double against North Summit on Tuesday with another double dip, finishing with 19 points and 12 rebounds against Millard. She also finished with four steals and two blocks. Kinlee Toomer also added a double double, dishing out 10 assists to go with her 19 points. Twin sister Kacelyn led the team with 20 points on 9-17 from the field. Lainee Jensen chipped in 14 points as well.

Emery (3-0, 0-0 Region 15) will host 3A foe Union (2-0, 0-0 Region 14) on Tuesday. The game will be streamed live online at www.etv10news.com/livesports.
