Mrs. Cowley and Mrs. Rowley, third grade teachers at Huntington Elementary, will be helping their students put on a Grinch play for the school, parents and community.

The play will be based off of the book “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” and will be on Monday, Dec. 21. There will be three showings, at 9:15 a.m. 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. This will be the first play of the year at Huntington Elementary. The day before the play is Grinch Day, so students are welcome to dress up like the Grinch.

In the beginning of of November, 53 third grade students had tryouts and the principal, Garth Johnson, determined which students got the leading roles. The rest of the students will help sing and have supportive parts. Katelyn Nielson got the main part as the Grinch.

“Every time I’ve been to previous plays at our elementary, it’s been wonderful. I don’t think it will be any different this year,” Johnson said.
