The Dixie–Six Rodeos began last weekend, Nov. 9 and 10, in Hurricane, Utah.

Friday’s competition was hosted by the Blue Mountain Rodeo Club. It was a little rough for many of the Emery club contestants but a few scored high enough to place in the top ten. Kayson Jensen was second in barebacks while Korby Christiansen placed third in saddle broncs. Drake Weber and Bret Olsen earned ninth in team roping. Both Weber and Christiansen also placed in reining cow corse, second and fifth, respectively. In the shooting events, Kagen Rhodes from the Carbon club took second in rifle and third in the trap shoot.

Next was the Dixie 1 rodeo on Saturday. Kagen Rhodes placed seventh in trap shoot and third in the rifle competition.
The junior high shooting competition also took place during the same time as the high school competition. At the Blue Mountain Rodeo, Ryter Ekker earned second, Shalako Gunter took ninth and Kashley Rhodes finished sixth. Placing at the Dixie 1 rodeo was Ryter Ekker, second, and Kashley Rhodes, seventh.

This week, it is back to Hurricane again for the second weekend of the Dixie-Six. Also this weekend, there will be the cowboy prom on Friday evening.
