It’s Not Too Late to Head to Price’s Library For Summer Fun

The Price City Library is pleased to offer the public two different reading programs through the summer.

The first, aimed at younger audiences up to third grade, is based on sports and entitled “Ready, Set, Read!”

Its mirror program, for those aged fourth grade and up, “Get in The Game” is similarly centered around physical activity.

The programs are part of a joint partnership between other libraries in the state and even various other states. They determine common themes and activities. After deciding on the theme and activities, libraries receive files with graphics, activities, crafts and suggestions on how to make their summer reading program a success.

“All we have to do is get the kids here,” Price City Library’s Head Librarian Norma Procarione admits with a laugh.

The activities for each age group offer a fun blend of learning and activity to keep participants interested as well as to help them benefit from their time spent with the program.

“Every week is something just a little different,” Procarione explained. Activities for the younger group has included hop scotch as well as an activity with a robot while the older audience recently practiced their hand at making capsules to keep eggs from breaking when dropped. Other activities are planned to continue throughout the summer.

Those who are interested may still sign up at the city’s library, located at 159 East Main Street in Price.

“We never turn anybody away,” Procarione assured.
