A high speed chase ended in a single-vehicle accident and the locating of two runaway juveniles on Wednesday afternoon.

According to preliminary reports, authorities received a report of two juveniles robbing a gas station in Grand County shortly after 2 p.m. on Wednesday. The pair fled the scene in a vehicle, traveling westbound on I-70 toward Green River.

Near Green River, a Utah Highway Patrolman and an Emery County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop the vehicle. The juveniles did not stop, leading authorities in a chase.

Eventually, the juveniles exited I-70 and traveled toward Swinging Bridge on the San Rafael Swell with authorities following behind. The juvenile driver eventually lost control of the vehicle and crashed, causing one juvenile to be ejected from the vehicle.

According to early reports, the juveniles originate from another state and the vehicle they were driving had been stolen. The ejected juvenile was transported to a hospital via ambulance with reports of a broken leg.

The names of the juveniles have not been released at this time.
