Kash Jewkes and his bat led Emery to a 15-0 win at Juab on Thursday.

Jewkes made the most of his opportunities by recording 10 RBIs on three extra-base hits, including two home runs and a double. Jewkes’ first home run was a grand slam.

The home runs vaulted Jewkes in second place in the state-wide home run race. Jewkes’ eight are second only to the 12 by Calob Aloi of Murray.

Not to be outdone, Nathan Mecham tossed a gem from the mound. Mecham surrendered just four hits in the shut-out effort to notch the win for the Spartans.

The win gave Emery sole possession of fourth place in Region 12, just .5 games behind Manti in third.

Emery hosts Gunnison on Tuesday in Castle Dale.
