Lady Dinos Bumped Out of State Playoffs by North Sanpete

After a cross-county rivalry upset over Emery in the opening round of the 3A State Soccer Playoffs, the Carbon Lady Dinos were trumped by North Sanpete in the quarterfinals on Saturday.

Both teams relied on defense throughout the first, going into the break with no points on the board. North Sanpete used the second half to rally, notching a pair of goals.

Carbon was unable to connect with the net throughout the game, handing the Hawks the 2-0 win. Emi Palmer and Hallie Bennett led the offense for North Sanpete, each notching a goal apiece.

With the loss, Carbon ends the 2017 season at 5-11 overall with a 3-9 stint in Region 14 play. Elley Cowdell led the Dinos throughout the season, notching a team high eight goals in 17 games, a .47 goals per game average. Ryan Brady and Grace Broadbear each added two goals throughout the season while Emma Haddock earned a lone goal for the Dinos.
