After a disappointing loss last week to Juab for their first Region 12 loss, the Carbon High Lady Dinos bounced back Tuesday with a drubbing of the North Sanpete Hawks, 72-47.
Amanda Freestone led all scorers in the game with 24 points. Rachel Scoggins added 17, and Miranda Averett chipped in 13 points in the win.
The Hawks outscored the Dinos 16-9 in the first quarter, but Carbon outscored North Sanpete 63-31 the rest of the way.
The Dinos ran their region record to 8-1 on the season with one game remaining. The Dinos take on second-place Delta Thursday in a match up that will determine playoff seeding. With a win, the Rabbits will slip into a tie for first place with the Dinos. If Carbon wins, it will sit alone atop the Region 12 standings.
