Diligently swinging through the season, the Carbon High Lady Dinos found themselves hosting a recent match on their home turf at the Carbon Country Club Golf Course. This match found the team moving into first place, a feat that head coach Kenji Otani described as a definite team effort.

“There is a lot of expectation and pressure on your home course and I am proud of how the girls played through it,” Otani stated.

Then, the Lady Dinos traveled to Roosevelt where they competed in the Region 14 Championship. Ending in fourth place in the match with a final score of 412, the team found themselves in a unique situation: losing the battle and winning the war.

Despite the fourth place finish, the Lady Dinos had a large enough lead in region standings to hold off the other teams and secure the title of Region 14 champions.

“That never quit attitude is what got us the win,” Coach Otani stated.

Four team members also found themselves in the top twelve: Jessica Hansen with 12th, Jordan Bianco with ninth, Aubrey Fausett with eighth and Sam King with sixth. The state tournament is slated to take place on May 8 and 9 in Richfield.
