Lady Dinos Soccer Sitting at 1-1-1 on Young Season

The Lady Dinos soccer team kicked off the 2017 season with a tie, win and loss in the first week of play.

The first game ended in a tie as Carbon hosted South Summit on Aug. 8. Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the match, ending the game in a 0-0 tie.

The next matchup fared better for the Dinos as they snatched a 3-1 win over Gunnison on Aug. 12. Gunnison, the hosting team, scored its lone goal in the first while Carbon put three quick goals on the board. Elley Cowdell scored two for the Dinos while Ryan Brady put in one, all before the break.

Carbon faced a tougher contest against Grand on Aug. 15 as the team took its first loss of the season, 2-1. The Dinos were the first on the board as they found the net once in the first half. The Red Devils rallied after the break, putting up two to take the win on their home field.

Next up for the Lady Dinos is a home contest against Union on Tuesday, Aug. 22. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m.
