Cali Fossat hit three homers against the Juab Wasps Tuesday afternoon as the Carbon Lady Dinos flew past the Wasps, 17-11, in an important Region 14 matchup.

The game marked the third time in as many games that a Lady Dino bashed three home runs in a game. Fossat hit three dingers against South Sevier last week and Kaytlyn Cripps added another three against Delta on Thursday. Fossat has seven home runs on the season, tied with Cripps for the team lead. They both sit in a tie for third in the entire state of Utah for home runs.

Besides Fossat’s home runs, she knocked in seven total RBIs on a double with three runs scored. Cripps also bashed a homer against Juab, going 3-5 with five RBIs. She also had two doubles. Kelsey Sorenson went 3-3 while Trenity Passarella, Dekota Kraushaar and Brooke Moosman each added two hits apiece.

The Lady Dinos jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead after an inning of play. After Carbon added another in the top of the second, the Wasps responded with four in the bottom half of the inning to cut the lead in half. Carbon added another run in the third and seven more in the fifth to take the comfortable lead.

Moosman got the win in the circle after going 5 1/3 innings, allowing nine earned runs and five walks. Kraushaar finished the game after Moosman’s exit.

Carbon (11-3, 4-1 Region 14) sits atop the Region 14 standings in front of Juab and Union, who each have a region loss. The Lady Dinos have won four of their past five games. Carbon will host North Sanpete on Thursday at the Carbon County Fairgrounds.
