Richfield’s Cove View golf course was host to the 18-hole region tournament that took place on Wednesday, April 5, where region standings and State Tournament hopes are decided.
Juab took the winning title of region and tournament with a score of 269 and a season total of 1030 points. North Sanpete came in at second with 232 and 789 points and Carbon placed third with 215 and 768 total points for the season. Lexi Garcia lead the team with 60 points. Aubrey Fausett made 53, Indie Gardner 52 and Keely Marquez 50 points.
Individually, Carbon had two girls in the top ten and one Academic All Region recipient. Keely Marquez finished 9th and Lexi Garcia finished 10th in region standings. Vanessa Schade was named Academic All Region.
“My girls gave it their all and they earned their place at the State Tournament,” said head coach Kenji Otani. “I am proud of my girls. I am very happy and proud Keely and Lexi were able to finish their senior season with top ten honors. I am also very proud of Vanessa for making Academic All Region.”
