The Pinnacle Lady Panthers started the 2018 volleyball season with two road games, splitting the pair to kick off the season with a 1-1 record.

The Lady Panthers got off to a rocky start in their season opener against Escalante. Pinnacle dropped the first set 25-8 before rebounding to take the second set 25-15. The Panthers struggled to come out on top as the team dropped the two remaining sets, 25-15 and 25-19, to give Escalante the win.

Then, on Tuesday, American Prep WV could not outpace the Panther offense as the Price team took home a 3-0 sweep in the non-region match. Pinnacle started strong with a 25-12 win in the first set. Two more strong performances in the second and third, 25-15 and 26-24, gave the Panthers the win.

Junior Stephanie Sasser led the team with seven kills and sophomore Angel Welch added two in the game.

Pinnacle will next return home and look to get revenge as the team hosts Escalante on Saturday. The game is slated for 1:15 p.m.
