A matchup on Tuesday pitted the leaders of Region 15 against each other in Castle Dale as Emery hosted Manti.
The Lady Spartans had a slow start, going scoreless in the first half while Manti jumped out with a 1-0 lead at the break. Emery gained momentum in the second, notching two goals. Manti answered with two goals of its own to take the narrow win, 3-2.
Alexis Winter and Chloe Sermon led the offense for the Spartans, grabbing one goal apiece.
With the loss, Emery (6-2) maintains its second place position in Region 15, trailing an undefeated Manti team. The Spartans will look for redemption on Thursday as the team travels to Grand. Then, the team will face the final stretch of Region 15 play with two games next week.
