The Emery Lady Spartans overcame a three-goal deficit in the second half in their overtime win over the Grand Red Devils Tuesday afternoon in Castle Dale.
Trailing 3-0 to begin the second half, Preslee Bringhurst (2) and Morgan Hurdsman scored goals to tie the score up at the end of regulation. Jocee Funk then netted the game-winning goal in overtime to earn the team’s first ever region win.
Emery (3-2-2, 1-1 2A Central) will host 3A North Sanpete (2-8-0, 1-1 Region 12) on Thursday. The team will then host fellow region foe Gunnison on Tuesday.
