The High Desert Farmer’s Market kicked off its 2012 season on Saturday by the Peace Gardens in Price.

Though numbers weren’t what they will be in the coming weeks and months, customers looking to purchase home-grown food stuffs came out in support of the local growers.

“We’re excited that we’ve got the market going. It had a good early turn out,” said Marvin Kranker, a local beekeeper from Easter Carbon. “We want people to know that as the season picks up and as we move along that we’ll have more booths. I can tell you we will have honey throughout the whole season.”

The farmer’s market is open every Saturday from 9-noon.
