Carbon and Emery’s softball and baseball squads will be quite busy this weekend.

Carbon:

After a 5-0 shutout loss against 4A Salem Hills on Tuesday, Carbon baseball will look to rebound with a double-header Saturday in Roosevelt. The Dinos will first take on Union, then 4A Highland right after. Neither team has notched a win this season. Carbon is 3-3 on the year.

The Lady Dinos upended Emery and Union in back to back games Tuesday and Wednesday, 8-4 and 5-2, respectively. Carbon will host Grand today at 3:30 p.m. The Dinos are 5-4 on the season and have won three of their last four.

Emery:

The Spartans started the season with two-straight wins against Uintah and Manti before losing at Cedar 2-1 on Tuesday. Emery will travel to the Montrose, Colo. tournament and will see action in at least three games starting today. Emery will start region play against Richfield March 23, at home.

The Lady Spartans, unlike the Lady Dinos, have lost consecutive games after starting the season with home wins against Carbon and Delta. The losses came against North Sanpete and Carbon, both of which were played on the road. Emery will travel to St. George this weekend for the second weekend of the March Warm-up tournament against Ogden, North Sevier and Kanab.

Going into the weekend, collectively, Carbon and Emery have a combined record of 12-10.
