Just before the rodeo action began, two graduating seniors from Carbon High were honored as members of the rodeo team. Afton McCourt and Kyler Magann were presented buckles.
During the rodeo, several local cowboys and cowgirls placed in the top ten. In bull riding, Spartan Austin Allred placed second. Ty Gordon and Taylor Wilstead, also from Emery, roped fast enough for third place. Morgan Jensen from Carbon finished fourth in the barrels.
In the pole bending event both Carbon’s Sadie Waller, and Emery’s Riata Chrtistiansen finished in the top ten. Waller walked away with fifth and Christiansen with eighth. In tie down roping Spartan Louie Ivie roped and tied fast enough for sixth place. Jordon Pierce, a Dino, finished sixth in trap shoot competition.
