Price City Press Release

Starting late Saturday evening, the Water and Sewer Department responded to low pressure alarms in multiple locations in the city below 300 North. Overnight and during the day yesterday, crews were able to locate leaks in six locations. These multiple leaks appear to have been caused by two pressure regulating valves that failed, sending pulses of pressure throughout the affected areas resulting in multiple ruptured water mains.

Crews have isolated two of the leaks on Carbon Avenue and 100 E and will be working on repairing those today. Water will continue to be off in those locations throughout the day while crews make the repairs. The remaining four leaks will be monitored and repaired over the next several days. Residents in those ares will be notified when the water will be turned off to make the repairs. Other residents in the area may experience lower water pressure until the leaks are fully repaired.

Residents with questions or concerns are encouraged to call our office at (435) 637-5010.
