A Clearfield man is considered lucky after a rollover on “C” Canyon road yesterday.

At 3:35p.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to “C” Canyon road where an Aramark box truck had rolledВ approximately two miles north from SR 123. Aramark employee, Christian Wilson (32), had made a routine uniform delivery at Westridge mine. Wilson was travelingВ southboundВ when he drifted off the west side of the road, he then overcorrected causing the box truck to roll, coming to rest on its top on the В east side of the road. Two vehicles came upon the scene shortly after the accidentВ occurred, and notified dispatch. When they came to Wilson’s aide he was already trying to exit the cab area, which had been almost completely crushed.

“The driver was В extremely lucky he had been wearing his seatbelt,” East Carbon Police Chief, Sam Leonard said. “Those box trucks are basically made out of aluminum and they just fall apart.”

Trooper Levi Oman (UHP) said this was a case of distracted driving and Wilson suffered no serious injuries.

“The driver was transported to Castleview Hospital as a precautionary method, he really is lucky he wasn’t more seriously injured,” Oman said.

East Carbon Police, Wellington Fire, and Utah Highway Patrol were present on the scene.
