Mont Harmon Middle School Press Release

For the last couple of weeks, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) students at Mont Harmon Middle School, under the direction of teacher Toni Behling, have been promoting a flood relief competition. The focus was to gather items that would be considered essential for persons affected by the flooding this past summer/fall.

The drive for items was part of Lydia Barr’s FBLA project to gather donations of personal items to help county flood victims. Such items included toilet paper, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo/conditioner and other personal care items. The competition was between University of Utah and Brigham Young University fans. Whichever collegiate box contained the most donated items became the winning team.

Mrs. Gagon vowed to wear a BYU shirt if the BYU box was the winner and Mr. Hardy would wear a U of U shirt if the U of U box won, going against the team of choice for these teachers. The U of U team became the winners of the event.

Thanks to these teachers for being good sports and helping us collect over 539 items.
