Carbon County Chamber of Commerce held its monthly luncheon at the Balance Rock Eatery in Helper this past Thursday.
The Holiday Inn was the featured business this month. The Holiday Inn, in conjunction with the chamber, will be hosting “Business After Hours” Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at its Price location.
The guest speaker for the chamber lunch was Cory Markisich, outpatient director at the New Roads Treatment Center.
Markisich spoke briefly about prescription drug abuse and how to spot it. The center will soon be offering more extensive training on substance abuse and suicide prevention in the community.
