Prehistoric Museum officials unveiled the newly redesigned Utahraptor mount Friday afternoon in Price.

Dr. Ken Carpenter said the project took approximately two months to complete. Carpenter, his crew and several volunteers worked on the project.

Carpenter said the new “killing pose” was designed to engage people as they enter the museum.

Carpenter said the project marked a new beginning for the museum. Carpenter said more major remodeling projects would come.

“All the dinosaurs in the pit are from the Cleveland-Lloyd Quarry, so they all lived around each other,” Carpenter said. “We want to put them in positions where they are interacting with each other.”

Carpenter said he thought the new Utahraptor pose was the only one of its kind throughout the world.
