Nielson Construction paving crews are working east down Nine Mile Canyon Road. At present, they are about a mile west of Gate Canyon. They are currently putting on two lifts of HMA to a total of 4 ½” on this first lift of asphalt between the Harmon Canyon and Gate Canyon intersections. Construction will continue during daylight hours Monday-Thursday unless rain interrupts the work during the regularly scheduled work week, then the crew will also work on Friday.
Flaggers will be present controlling traffic and drivers should expect 20-30 minute delays each direction. Paving will be ongoing throughout the summer months. Please pay attention to the signage and watch for haul trucks while traveling the canyon.
