On To State Finals For Rodeo Teams

May 11 and 12 were the finals days for high school rodeo this season. Several members picked up more points to carry with them into the finals June 4-9 in Heber City, Utah.

The Rhodes boys picked up two fifth place finishes for Kagen and a second and fourth place finish for Kolton in the rifle shoot sport. In trap shoot, Kolton was eighth, Ruger Payne tied for third and Trinity Payne finsihed fourth.

In the arena events, Riata and Korby Christiansen were sixth and 10th in reining cow work. Break away points were added for Riata with a fifth place finish while Jessica Fox ended in third and Jessie McElprang took eighth. In tie down roping, Hayden Cloward was seventh and ninth. Once again, he captured first place in team roping. Korby Christiansen also placed seventh with his partner in team roping. Caleb Rubio tied for seventh in bull riding.

With three weeks until state finals, the practice pens will be busy for the members of the rodeo teams.
