The Pinnacle Panthers have gone 1-3 in their past four games, setting up a matchup against Bryce Valley on Friday at the USU Eastern field.

Against Wayne last week, Pinnacle was blanked by the Badgers 10-0. Jaxson Carlisle was credited with his first loss on the mound, allowing three earned runs in the game. He also went 2-2 from the plate. Mikey Vigil went 3-3 and Zach Gibson added another hit, going 1-3. Pinnacle loaded the bases for three straight innings without scoring a run. The loss marked the Panthers’ first region loss of the season.

Pinnacle rebounded against Diamond Ranch on Thursday, taking home the huge, 18-1 win. Mcguire Kocks, Gibson and Stetson Motte all had two hits apiece in the contest. Gibson also had a co-team high five RBIs, tying with Michael Schmitz, who went 1-2 with five walks. Christian McLean tossed the two-hit complete game, for the win.

Missing six starters Friday against Tabiona, the Panthers saw the visiting team score all of its runs in the first three innings for the 13-0 loss. Pinnacle was credited with just two hits in the game. Vigil took the loss on the mound.

Pinnacle was supposed to host Piute on Tuesday, but because of field conditions at USU Eastern, the game was moved to Piute. Down 5-3 going into the fifth, Pinnacle saw Piute put up a big inning en route to the 13-3 win. Carlisle was tagged for his second straight loss after giving up four earned runs in 4 1/3 innings of work. Carlisle also had two of the team’s three RBIs in the game, going 1-2. Gibson, Motte, Riley Wilson and Vigil also had a hit in the game.

Pinnacle, now 9-5 overall and 2-3 in 1A South play, will host Bryce Valley on Friday at USU Eastern.
