Pirates and Panthers Compete at State Golf Tourney

The 1A State Golf Tournament took place in Provo at the Eastbay Golf Course on Tuesday, May 16, and Wednesday, May 17.

The Lady Panthers walked away with an eighth-place finish overall. Kaysha Dunegan-Clegg led her team at the tourney, finishing with 36 points. Allie Sherman was behind with 33 afer which Camryn Vigil put up 23. Kaeley Taylor grabbed 21 with Nyet Rasmussen bringing home 14.

The three Panthers representing at the tourney did not make it past the first day’s cut line. Huntter Sherman walked away with 123 overall. Tanner Hansen finished with 127 and Emilio Gonzales with 134.

Lady Pirate Prisma Mendez was the sole representative from Green River in the girls’ tourney, grabbing 20 points during the event.

Tyson Giles, Sam Corrigan and Preston Marshall competed as individuals for the boys’ contest, with Giles and Corrigan coming in with 97 while Marshall finished with 122.
