Preliminary Hearing for Chad Snyder Postponed

Chad Snyder was scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Aug. 7 for the shooting of his wife, Misty Snyder, in June. However, the hearing was postponed until Sept. 3 at 10 a.m.

The Emery County Sheriff’s Office received a call at 4:17 p.m. on Sunday, June 29 stating that a female subject had been shot and that the male who shot her was inside the residence with a gun. The shooting took place outside the Snyder home.

Misty suffered from a single gunshot wound to the arm. The bullet traveled through her upper body, causing numerous internal injuries requiring multiple surgeries.

Chad was charged by Emery County Seventh District Court with first-degree felony attempted murder and two charges of third-degree felony use of a firearm by a restricted person.
