Price City’s annual Culture Connections series is officially underway, bringing various artists to perform throughout the summer.

The event kicked off with the Jeff Keele Band on June 8. Known for its classic country and a smattering of classic rock, the band performed both cover pieces and original songs throughout the evening.

The band is led on the microphone by Jeff Keele with Dallas Howa on the drums, Brian Sherman on the guitar and Chris Magann on bass.

Most notable about the evening was the performance of numbers from the Jeff Keele Band’s first recorded album, Hot Black Coffee. The album will be released mid-July on iTunes and on CD.

The following Thursday, June 15, a band that is well-known locally graced the stage. The Deltaz returned for a repeat performance, having also performed at Culture Connection the previous summer. Consisting of three band members, two of whom are brothers, the Deltaz performed folk and rock hits in a California style.

Local artists from Helper City were also at the event, with paintings displayed as well as paintings that they worked on throughout the night. Market Express had a truck with food available for purchase.

The Deltaz expressed how they thoroughly enjoy performing for the patrons of Carbon County. The band will be playing again at the Rio Theater in Helper on Saturday, June 17.

Next up for Culture Connection enthusiasts will be Out the Back Door on June 22. The acoustic trio will begin performing at 7 p.m. at the Price City Peace Gardens.
